A selection of pieces from the great J S Bach’s phenomenal two-volume work The Well Tempered Clavier.
The Well Tempered Clavier, sometimes known as the '48', presents pairs of preludes and fugues in every major and minor key. But it is the sheer quality, diversity and emotional depth of this music that shines through.
During the concert Robin will give some spoken introductions to the music, looking at Bach's likely inspiration for individual works, and the beauty of their design.
The concert takes place in the informal surroundings of Star Anise Arts Cafe in Stroud. Coffee, tea, cake and other light refreshments will be available to buy in the interval.
